The Blacksburg Striders running club, located in Blacksburg, Virginia, began in 1980 as the Virginia Tech Striders. Though the name has changed, our purpose remains the same: To provide community involvement and a source of camaraderie for local runners to enjoy group events, races, social activities and community service in the context of our sport. Follow the links above to learn about our races and other activities.

[ MEMBERSHIPS]

We would love to add you to our growing list of members. Please join or renew online for just $20. Your dues help us put on local races, provide insurance to cover events, host meetups, and support community causes like the Poverty Creek Trails Coalition and the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

Joining the Striders gives you discounts to local races and the satisfaction of supporting your fellow runners.

[ VOLUNTEERS ]

Volunteers serving as officers of the club organize meetings & clinics, fun runs, social events, and special events throughout the year. Opportunities are always available for members willing to volunteer as race directors, to assist race directors, and for general administrative duties related to club activities.
