Upcoming Events

  • October 29, 2022 (9:00 a.m.): Spooky Sprint 5K (Wasena Park, Roanoke, VA). The run benefits the West End Center for Youth. Runners are encouraged to dress in costume for judging, and Justyn Mutts, college basketball star and West End Center ambassador, will be kicking off the race. There will be a wellness fair, kids' activities, and food and fun. | Web site

  • July 24, 2022 (Sunday, 8:00 a.m.): Huckleberry Jam (Blacksburg, VA). The Huckleberry Jam was an 8.3-mile point-to-point race and 2 Mile race. The 8.3-mile race begins at RunAbout Sports and utilizes the entire length of the Huckleberry Trail, finishing at the Christiansburg Rec Center. | Results

  • June 18, 2022 (8:00 p.m.): Downtown Sundown 5K (Blacksburg, VA). | Results

  • April 30, 2022 (9 a.m.—Noon in person, April 16–30 virtual): Highlander 5K (Radford, VA; The 5K will begin at the Dedmon Center, and runners will jump on the Bisset Park trail along the river.) Radford Athletics is offering in person and virtual race options for the 2022 Highlander 5K presented by Carilion Clinic! All race proceeds go towards the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarship aid to our 16 Division I programs. | Results.

  • April 16, 2022: 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance. The event began with a moment of silence at 9:43 a.m. on the VT Drill fieldd to honor and remember the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us in 2007.   • December 24 (1 p.m.) : Frosty 5k (Behind the Food Lion North Main, Blacksburg). | Event Info and Results.

  • October 30, 2021: Brush Mountain Breakdown. The 12 miler, 7 miler, and 5K fun run are all on trails inside Pandapas Park, which is part of the Jefferson National Forest. The run features a challenging course with many hills and some creek crossings (water less than knee deep). There are rest stations with energy gels, bars, water and Gatorade drink. | Results.

  • October 16, 2021 (10 a.m.): Twin County Regional Healthcare Galax Autumn Days 5K Run (Galax, VA). 1 mile race for kids 12 & under begins at 9:00 a.m. Co-sponsored by the Galax Parks and Recreation Department and Twin County Regional Healthcare. | Results.

  • September 4, 2021 (8:00 a.m.): American Legion Post 3 5K/10K Run (Elmwood Park,706 S Jefferson St,Roanoke, VA 24011); benefiting the American Legion Post 3 in Salem, Virginia. | Event Info and Results

  • November 28, 2019 (Thursday): The Blacksburg Turkey Trot (8:30 a.m.) and The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash (8:00 a.m.) in downtown Blacksburg, VA. The Blacksburg Turkey Trot is the perfect mix of fun and fitness on Thanksgiving morning. The 5k course is designed with all skill levels of walkers and runners in mind! It's ideal for first-timers and veteran runners alike. Each participant is asked to bring one canned good or non-perishable to packet pickup (Wednesday, November 27th from 12pm-7pm). More than one is welcomed and encouraged. VA Momentum will consolidate all of the items and ensure they are delivered to the Interfaith Food Pantry. | Results.

  • October 12, 2019 (11:00 a.m.): Brave Heart 5K (Bisset Park, Radford, VA). Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. | Results

  • October 13, 2018 (9:00 a.m.): Parrot Strut 5K (Warm Hearth Village, Blacksburg, VA). There is also a 1-mile run at 9:45, in which dogs are allowed. 100% of the proceeds from the race benefit the Neighbors in Need fund, which benefits low-income seniors living on Warm Hearth's campus who need assistance with housing and healthcare. | Course Map | Results.
